Evaluation reveals increasing need for support among students in Finland
A recent evaluation by the Finnish National Agency for Education (Karvi) reveals an increasing need for support among students. This assessment is based on responses from education directors, school principals, teachers, and educational assistants.
According to the evaluation, teachers reported having more students requiring support in their classrooms than the available resources to provide that assistance. The greater the needs of the students, the less effectively their learning and schooling could be supported.
Karvi is currently assessing the effectiveness of differentiation and flexible teaching arrangements in basic education from 2022 to 2024.
