The former partner of ex-hockey player Janne Puhakka, Rolf Nordmo, is deeply remorseful about the incident, according to Nordmo’s lawyer, Ville Luoto. On Wednesday, Nordmo was ordered to be detained on probable cause related to the suspected murder of Puhakka. He is believed to have fatally shot Puhakka on the evening of October 13 in their jointly owned duplex.

Nordmo has admitted to shooting Puhakka with a shotgun, leading to his death. During the court proceedings, Nordmo displayed a calm demeanor and appeared relaxed. He participated in the hearing virtually alongside his lawyer and an interpreter, dressed in a white collared shirt and blue jeans, with his arms crossed.

The charge against Nordmo must be filed by February 27, 2025. The Western Uusimaa District Court reviewed the detention matter for just under an hour.

Authorities have stated that they will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the events. Currently, the police are focusing on uncovering more detailed information about the sequence of events, and therefore will not comment further at this stage. The investigation will continue, including interviewing individuals close to the suspect. The story is developing.
