Mia Wagner resigns as Denmark’s Minister of Digitalization and Gender Equality due to health issues
Mia Wagner, known for her role on the television show “Løvens Hule,” entered the political arena less than a year ago as the Minister of Digitalization and Gender Equality for the Liberal Party in Denmark. However, she resigned just 14 days into her tenure due to health issues. In a recent episode of “Fortidens Hemmeligheder,” she spoke about the “health-related reasons” behind her short ministerial career.
Wagner revealed that despite not having discussed her condition publicly before, she felt ready to talk about it now. She has a heart condition that necessitates a pacemaker. Initially, she hadn’t experienced significant symptoms until shortly after accepting her ministerial role, when she suffered a severe fainting episode that left her with memory loss and caused her to collapse at home.
This event marked a crucial turning point in her life. Reflecting on the experience, Wagner described it as a deeply emotional moment, making her reconsider her limits. She expressed a strong desire not to expose her loved ones to fear surrounding her ability to fulfill her responsibilities.
After deciding to step down, she experienced feelings of shame and sorrow for not meeting her commitments as a minister. Yet, she also felt a sense of pride in choosing life over a demanding role. She emphasized the strength she derived from her decision, affirming that she chose love, despite the pain of the situation being public.
In the same episode of “Fortidens Hemmeligheder,” Wagner is surprised with fascinating stories about her ancestors’ connections to significant figures in history.
