A new book authored by Stein Morten Lier, the editor of the podcast “Avhørt,” was scheduled for release but has been postponed. The book is available for pre-order on the Ark website until October 22. Lier has stated that a meeting is set for Wednesday to determine a new publication date, while the publisher’s marketing manager, Marit Grue, confirmed in a text message that the manuscript is still under development and the final release date has not been established.

Prior to the weekend, it became known that State Prosecutor Vibeke Gjøslien had sent a letter to Aschehoug, the publishing company, requesting a postponement of the book’s release. The letter, read by NRK, states that this request was made on behalf of the defense attorneys for the five accused individuals in the case and the family’s counsel. The letter emphasizes the need for postponement until a final ruling is made by the court, expressing concerns over potential witness influence and pre-judgment of the case.

In response to the publisher’s decision, the victim’s family has expressed relief at the delay. Marijana Lozic, the family’s legal representative, stated they appreciate the decision but would refrain from further comments. Family members have voiced their strong discontent with the book, highlighting that the timing is unfortunate and that there are factual inaccuracies within. Ivar Borgen, the stepfather of the victim, described the situation as adding further burden to their already difficult experience, stressing that it is not just a case for them, but a significant part of their lives.
