New owner emerges for Ilveslinna property in Jämsänkoski, Finland
A new owner has emerged for Ilveslinna, a property located on the banks of Partalankoski in Jämsänkoski. The online auction that concluded yesterday attracted two bids, with the highest reaching €100,800. The building, constructed in 1937, was sold by entrepreneur Matti Ylitalo, who had purchased the property from Lasse Saarenpää last year for €151,000.
According to Ylitalo, the buyer is an entrepreneur from Paimio in Western Finland, who prefers to remain anonymous at this time. Ylitalo expressed confidence that the operations at Ilveslinna will continue seamlessly. The starting price for the auction was set at €99,000. Notably, just six years ago, the property’s value exceeded €200,000, and it also features museum activities.
The highest bidder raised their offer from €99,900 only five minutes before the bidding closed on Sunday evening. Ylitalo previously indicated to Taloussanomat that managing Ilveslinna had become too burdensome alongside his other business ventures. He is now also in the process of selling his transportation company, which provides taxi and bus services.
“I expect to finalize that sale this week,” Ylitalo stated to Yle. He mentioned that he has promised himself not to employ anyone again, stating, “Or maybe I can employ one person, but not a large group,” he added.
