Health Workers’ Union chairwoman Mary Antonsdóttir addresses wage dispute ahead of negotiations in Iceland

There is no secret that we are experiencing the consequences of the wage dispute linked to the recent salary increases, which have resulted in an unnecessary wage gap between us and other associations that also received wage hikes.

This is the statement from Mary Antonsdóttir, chairwoman of the Health Workers’ Union, as she prepares for upcoming negotiations for a new agreement, since the previous one expired on October 1.

While she cannot predict the duration of the negotiations, she acknowledges they may take time. In the past two instances, the negotiations concluded with an agreement.
