Police warn drivers of slippery roads in Tórshavn as salting begins

The police have reported that the roads in Tórshavn are very slippery this morning.

The municipality has begun salting the streets, starting with the slopes and areas frequented by buses. Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution, especially on roads where sunlight struggles to reach.

As of now, there have been no reports of traffic accidents this morning due to the icy conditions. However, two incidents were recorded yesterday evening—one in Vestmanna and another between Fjarðardalur and Eysturoyn.
