Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson calls for government stability amid coalition tensions in Iceland
Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson, the Minister of Finance and chairman of the Progressive Party, emphasized the urgent need for stability within the government. In a Facebook post, he stated that it is crucial for peace to be established among the coalition partners. If the Independence Party and the Left-Green Movement are unwilling or unable to adhere to and work on the government plan, this should be made clear within the next 24 hours.
Additionally, Sigurður noted that the media has been seeking interviews. He commented, “I have not responded to questions where I cannot and do not want to speculate about the outcomes of specific meetings among the coalition parties. It is essential to ask their leaders about their issues.”
