Finance Minister emphasizes need for stability in Icelandic government

Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson, the Minister of Finance and leader of the Progress Party, emphasized the urgent need for stability within the government in a recent Facebook post. He noted that if the Independence Party and the Left-Green Movement are unable to uphold and work towards the governing agreement, they must communicate this within the next couple of days.

Jóhannsson commented on media inquiries for interviews, stating, “I have not answered questions because I cannot and do not want to speculate on what happens at individual meetings of the coalition parties. The leadership of those parties should be asked about their concerns.”
