Two boys charged in planned murder case involving Danish target

The Swedish public prosecutor’s office has charged two boys in connection with a planned murder of an unidentified individual in Denmark. According to a press release, one of the boys was arrested at Stockholm Central Station on July 8 while preparing to take a train to Malmö.

Prosecutor Helena Westöö stated that the 16-year-old received instructions via the Signal app to shoot and kill an unknown person in Denmark. It is believed he intended to travel from Malmö to Copenhagen to carry out the murder mission, for which he would have been paid 150,000 Swedish kronor.

The second 16-year-old was also arrested on the same day. Authorities claim he purchased the train ticket for the boy who was to execute the murder. The first boy is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and attempting to persuade others to do the same, while the second boy is charged as an accomplice in the preparation for murder.

Additionally, charges have been filed against a 14-year-old girl. She allegedly sent money to the main accused and intended to travel to Malmö with him, with plans to continue to Copenhagen. The girl was apprehended in Malmö two days after the two boys were arrested.
