Broiler sells out Unity Arena in Norway in just eight minutes
Broiler, the Norwegian duo consisting of Mikkel Christiansen and Simen Auke, has made history by selling out Norway’s largest indoor arena, Unity Arena, in just eight minutes. This remarkable achievement is seen as a game-changer for the Norwegian music scene, setting a new standard for future artists.
Their upcoming concert on March 1 next year will mark the conclusion of The Beginning Tour, which celebrates the songs that launched their career over a decade ago. Music director at NRK P3, Janne Monsen Tveit, commended Broiler for engaging the Norwegian public in an unprecedented manner, stating they have played a pivotal role in defining modern Norwegian party music.
Reflecting on their success, Christensen expressed disbelief at the overwhelming response, acknowledging that their efforts to fill the arena exceeded their expectations. The duo is known for electronic music styles such as tropical house, progressive house, and electro house. With hit tracks like “Møndarn,” “How I Wet Your Mother,” and “Når du slår ut håret blir jeg slått ut,” they have solidified their presence in Norway’s dancing scene.
The 25,000 tickets sold in minutes highlight their historic significance within the industry. Tveit pointed out that Broiler’s achievement could open doors for more artists to consider performing at the Unity Arena. She praised the duo’s dedication and connection to their fanbase, noting, “Without Broiler, we might not have seen the rise of Golfklubb or Ballinciaga.”
Broiler’s impact has transformed the landscape of festive music in Norway, with their influence resonating well beyond national borders.
