Over half of Finns are concerned about the costs associated with the liberalization of alcohol sales. A clear majority believe that lawmakers should avoid making decisions that would increase alcohol consumption. These findings come from a survey conducted by E2 Research in February 2024, which examined Finnish attitudes towards alcohol. The study was carried out prior to the implementation of a new alcohol law that took effect in June. This new legislation allows grocery stores to sell fermented beverages containing up to eight percent alcohol.
