Concerns have been raised regarding the budget proposed by Sirið Stenberg, the Minister of Social Affairs, related to adjusted employment. Árni Skaale, a member of the Parliament from the People’s Party, expressed these concerns during a recent discussion.

The Parliament is currently reviewing the minister’s legislative proposal aimed at tightening the criteria for obtaining adjusted employment. However, there are worries that this may push more individuals into other welfare programs.

During discussions in Parliament, Skaale, along with other members from the welfare committee, including Liljan Weihe and Johan Dahl, as well as Eyðgunn Samuelsen, chairwoman of the finance committee, voiced their opinions on the proposed changes.

Dahl emphasized the need for a thorough reform of the system, acknowledging that such changes are not straightforward.

Sirið Stenberg defended her proposal in an interview, indicating that it aims to better meet the needs of individuals requiring adjusted employment.
