One hundred million kroner allocated for Smyril ferry docking in Faroe Islands

More than one hundred million kroner has been allocated for the docking of the ferry Smyril next autumn.

However, additional funding will be required in the future, as Smyril is set to receive new main engines in about four years, and there are plans to replace the ferry as well.

Information obtained by Kringvarpið indicates that communication between the operator of the coastal ferry and the Ministry of Fisheries and Transport has been quite contentious.
