Seven individuals have applied for the position of director at the Ministry of Health.
John Rajani, the Prime Minister, announced that the process of selecting a new director will commence immediately, with the goal of concluding the matter by the end of the month.
Bjørgfríð Ludvig has been serving as the interim director since January 1 of this year.
She stepped into the role after Aksel V. Johannesen, the Prime Minister, issued a letter of intent to Turid Arge, the former director, following legal counsel regarding a civil service investigation.
In late June, it was decided to issue a reprimand to Turid Arge, after which she left her position as director at the Ministry of Health. Subsequently, she was appointed as an advisor in the Prime Minister’s office instead.
The role of director at the Ministry of Health is set for a period of seven years, with the possibility of extending the appointment for up to three additional years.
