Authorities confirm no foul play in death of man at Helsinki Police Prison in Finland

In a death that occurred at the Helsinki Police Prison in late May, authorities have determined there is no reason to suspect foul play. According to the prosecutor’s office, a man in his twenties died on May 29 while in custody at the police station in Pasila. He had previously been arrested on suspicion of a crime.

The cause of death was investigated by the Western Uusimaa Police Department under the leadership of a special prosecutor. The preliminary investigation revealed that the man’s death could not be attributed to any actions or negligence on the part of the police or prison guards.
