Two underage boys were arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with an ongoing investigation. Police stated that both are over the criminal age of responsibility and have been charged with aggravated assault. Additionally, the person who was assaulted is facing allegations of arranging a meeting with a child under 16.

Authorities have strengthened their hypothesis that the accused lured the victim into a physical meeting involving a minor. The police take this type of planned, serious violence seriously, regardless of the parties involved or the motives behind it. Investigating criminal offenses is a core responsibility of law enforcement and the prosecuting authority.

The victim, a man in his 40s, has been charged under Section 306 of the penal code, which punishes those who arrange a meeting with a child under 16 with the intent to commit specific offenses as defined in other sections of the law.

The investigation is ongoing, with police conducting interviews of those involved as well as witnesses. They are also working to secure digital evidence.

A video seen by NRK shows the man being beaten and kicked while on the ground, resulting in significant bleeding. The police condemned the sharing of violent videos, noting that such dissemination is also a criminal offense.

While there are not many incidents of this nature in Trøndelag, police expressed concern that it could become a broader trend. They are urging parents to remain vigilant, as very young children could be exposed to such trends through social media and, in worst-case scenarios, become involved in situations with serious negative consequences.
