Update on security situation in Sweden ahead of press conference
A press conference is scheduled to provide an update on the security situation in Sweden. The last such briefing was held in August, during which authorities highlighted three concurrent threats to national security: terrorism and extremism, state actors hostile to Sweden, and organized crime posing systemic risks.
In addition to Gunnar Strömmer, participants will include Johan Olsson, head of the National Operational Department, and Fredrik Hallström, operational chief at the Security Police. The press conference will take place on Thursday.
Sofia Yohannes, a crime reporter, and John Granlund, a security reporter, will offer commentary from the SVT studio during the event.
