A court in Eastern Uusimaa has sentenced 31-year-old Juha Johannes Kytökorpi to ten years in prison for manslaughter. The incident occurred in early May in Mäntsälä, where Kytökorpi fatally stabbed a 32-year-old woman in a car. The victim was discovered in a recreational area after a passerby reported the situation to emergency services.
Kytökorpi admitted to the act. During the investigation, he stated that his motivation stemmed from fear of his secret relationship being exposed. In court, however, he maintained that he and the victim were merely friends. Contrarily, a close relative of the victim testified that she had referred to Kytökorpi as her boyfriend and mentioned that he had recently ended a prior relationship.
