Sako announces temporary layoffs for 68 employees in Riihimäki and Muurame
Finnish firearms manufacturer Sako has concluded change negotiations, resulting in temporary layoffs for 68 employees. The duration of these layoffs will range from two to four weeks. Initially, the negotiations involved 160 employees at the company’s sites in Riihimäki and Muurame.
In a statement, Sako explained that the reassignment of tasks to support the production of government rifles significantly reduced the need for layoffs. Looking ahead to next year, Sako expresses optimism about its prospects. The downturn in civilian business is expected to be short-lived, while strong growth in the government business appears to be continuing.
