A man suspected of attempting to murder police officers in Vantaa, Helsinki, has been taken into custody today, Friday. The incident occurred last Thursday when he shot at officers who came to his home. Initially, authorities reported that the suspect used a crossbow, but they later clarified that he actually fired with a compound bow.

The man faces charges of eight counts of attempted murder and two counts of violent resistance against officials. He was remanded by the Helsinki District Court earlier this morning. The investigation is being led by the Western Uusimaa Police.

According to Chief Inspector Tero Tonteri, the man has been interrogated, but a clear motive for his actions has yet to be determined. Technical investigations are also being conducted at the crime scene. The inquiry will continue, including interviews with involved parties and witnesses.

Local reports indicate that the suspect is a man born in 1968. He was scheduled to appear in court last Thursday morning in Helsinki, where he faced charges related to violently resisting an official.
