Aircraft makes emergency landing near Lahti-Vesivehmaa Airport in Asikkala

A small aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in a field near Lahti-Vesivehmaa Airport in Asikkala on Thursday around 6:30 PM. According to Mikko Javanainen, the duty fire chief of the Päijät-Häme rescue service, the aircraft experienced a technical malfunction, prompting the emergency landing. There were two individuals on board.

After landing in the field, the aircraft collided with some sort of mound, causing it to overturn. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported. Emergency services checked the occupants of the plane for any potential injuries.

The aircraft did not catch fire during the incident, nor did it leak any fluids onto the field. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the event.
