Maaninen appointed new rector of University of Oulu
Arto Maaninen has been appointed as the new rector of the University of Oulu. Currently, he serves as the vice rector for collaboration at the university. Maaninen will officially take on his role as rector at the beginning of next year. The university’s board made the selection during a meeting on Thursday.
In the final stages of the selection process, Maaninen was considered alongside Helka-Liisa Hentilä, a professor at the University of Oulu and former vice rector for education, as well as Mika Hannula, the vice rector responsible for societal interaction and impact at the University of Turku.
