Former leader of the Moderate Party, Anna Kinberg Batra, took office as the governor of Stockholm last year. In the spring, it was revealed that she had recruited two acquaintances, including a close friend, for positions within the county administrative board. One of the roles was advertised only via a notice at the board’s reception, while the other was not advertised at all.

Subsequently, it was disclosed that a third position was also filled by someone who did not meet the educational requirements for a degree. The actions of the governor have been criticized for displaying negligence and a lack of respect for the fundamental regulations designed to maintain public trust in government operations. Overall, she deserves serious criticism for her conduct, stated the Parliamentary Ombudsman, Per Lennerbrant.

A short video summary of the controversy surrounding Anna Kinberg Batra is available.
