This week, two helicopter flights by Atlantic Helicopters were requested to transport tourists to the National Hospital.
On Monday morning, a tourist sustained a leg injury while on Kallin, near Eggjarnar, on Kalsoy.
Yesterday, the helicopter was dispatched to Trælanípuna to assist another tourist who had broken a foot.
This marks the eleventh time this summer that the helicopter has been called to rescue individuals who have either fallen in the terrain or gotten stuck while hiking.
Most of those requiring assistance have been foreign tourists.
