Police downgrade attempted murder charge to causing danger after shooting in Hyvinkää

Police have officially ruled out the suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred in Hyvinkää early Monday morning. The incident took place when shots were fired at the window of an apartment building on Vieremänkatu from outside. Shots were also fired from within the apartment. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
On Wednesday, authorities announced that the initial charge of attempted murder had been downgraded to causing danger to others. This decision was made after further investigation, including the assessment of the direction of the shots. Another potential charge being investigated is firearms offenses.
Four middle-aged suspects—two men and two women—have been arrested. According to the police, the suspects have not provided clarity on the motives behind the shooting during their interrogations. Authorities emphasize that the incident posed no danger to bystanders.
