Unemployment rises to 0.9 percent in Sweden with notable long-term joblessness

In August, the unemployment rate stood at 0.9 percent, showing a 0.2 percentage point increase compared to the same month last year. Subsequently, there were 287 individuals classified as long-term unemployed.
The figures reveal a higher number of unemployed men compared to women, with 197 men and 129 women reported as fully unemployed in August.
The highest unemployment rates are observed among individuals aged 25 to 34. Additionally, there were 39 people identified as long-term unemployed, having been without work for more than a year.
For context, the unemployment rate was 1.1 percent in July, corresponding to 328 fully unemployed individuals.
