Vandalism reported at Parliament House in Finland during protest against peat extraction

On Wednesday morning, police reported that the pillars of the Parliament House in Finland had been vandalized with red paint. Authorities were alerted to the scene around 8 AM, and police are currently present. The situation at the Parliament House is calm.
According to Helsingin Sanomat, this act is part of a protest. Demonstrators sitting on the steps of the Parliament are holding signs that read in Swedish “Förbjud Torvbrytning,” which translates to “Ban Peat Extraction.”
