Fire breaks out at Raisio’s mill in Nokia, Finland

A fire broke out early Wednesday morning at Raisio’s mill in Nokia, Finland. The blaze started in the silo building, reportedly ignited by an electric motor that caused nearby flour to catch fire. According to the Pirkanmaa Rescue Service, the fire spread through the flour, resembling smoldering combustion.

The emergency services were alerted to the incident on Rounionkatu around 5:50 AM. A total of nine units from the rescue service were dispatched to extinguish the fire. The firefighters successfully contained and cleared the fire before it could escalate into larger flames. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Raisio’s mill in Nokia oversees the company’s entire oat and rye milling operations. The situation remains under observation as updates unfold.
