Police investigate attempted murders of officers in Espoo, Finland

The police in Helsinki have initiated a preliminary investigation into two alleged attempted murders that occurred in Espoo during the night of September 19. The targets of these attempted murders were two police officers. The suspect is a 21-year-old man who was apprehended in Leppävaara around 3 a.m. The operation involved patrols from the Western Uusimaa Police Department, as well as units from the Helsinki and Eastern Uusimaa police departments.

According to Jukka Larkio, the chief investigator from the Helsinki police, the preliminary reports indicate that the suspect fired a firearm at the officers near Läkkitori at around 3 a.m. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The suspect is also facing charges related to drug offenses.
