Moped rider killed in car accident in Askolassa, Eastern Uusimaa

A 16-year-old moped rider tragically lost his life after being struck by a car in Askolassa, located in Eastern Uusimaa, on Sunday evening. The incident was first reported by Itäväylä. The accident occurred on an asphalt road, Vahijärventie, around 9 PM. The driver of the car also sustained injuries, though the severity of these injuries has not been disclosed by the police.

The Eastern Uusimaa police have announced that they suspect the 18-year-old driver of gross manslaughter and severe endangerment of traffic safety. Authorities believe the driver was operating the vehicle at an excessive speed at the time of the collision.
