Finland begins aerial distribution of rabies bait vaccines along southeastern border
Finland’s Food Authority (Ruokavirasto) has announced the start of aerial distribution of rabies bait vaccines along the southeastern border today. This operation will continue for about a month. The aim is to prevent the spread of rabies, which occurs in wild animals, into Finland. The distribution will take place in two designated areas: one between Tohmajärvi and Virolahti, and the other along the southern coast from the eastern border to Pyhtää. Finland has been officially rabies-free since 1991.
