Truck overturns near Ankkurituuli service station in Loviisa, blocking traffic on Road 170

A truck overturned near the Ankkurituuli service station in Loviisa this morning, blocking traffic on Road 170 at the Björklund roundabout. As a result, traffic toward Loviisa is currently being diverted. The truck was carrying a large load of recycled metal, which likely needs to be removed before the vehicle can be lifted and towed away. Clearing the accident site is expected to take several hours.

Traffic is being redirected to an alternative route. “The road is fairly busy during the day, but fortunately the detour via Insinöörintie and Johtajantie is quite good,” said Antti Virtanen, a duty officer from the East Uusimaa Rescue Service. According to Virtanen, the truck driver was unharmed, and there were no other vehicles involved in the incident. However, diesel has leaked from the truck onto the road, which is contributing to the delays in clearing the site.
