Finnish Tax Administration issues 270 million euros in residual taxes due today

Approximately 270 million euros in residual taxes, referred to as “mätkyjä” in Finnish, are due for payment today, according to the Finnish Tax Administration. This September deadline constitutes the largest tax bill in monetary terms for the year. The payment deadline affects around 350,000 clients of the Tax Administration, with 300,000 of them facing their first installment.

On Tuesday, however, the flow of money will shift, as the Tax Administration disburses tax refunds to roughly 1.2 million clients. This disbursement is also set to be substantial, amounting to nearly 1.2 billion euros, marking the largest total payout of the year.
