Mänttä Hospital sold at auction for €30,000 in Finland

Thursday 29th August 2024 on 15:53 in Finland

The decommissioned Mänttä Hospital has been sold at auction for €30,000, with a starting price of €10,000. A total of seven bids were placed during the auction, which lasted until the final moments on August 29. The last bid was submitted just nine minutes before the auction closed.

The Pirkanmaa Welfare Area sold the hospital property, including its buildings, in a dilapidated state. Hospital operations ceased in December 2014, and the structures have remained vacant for three years. The sold land spans 4,287 hectares, featuring an old hospital building, residential and office buildings, a lakeside sauna, and a garage. All buildings on the site, along with their contents, were included in the sale.

Attempts to sell the property have spanned several years, with two offers in 2015 amounting to €50,000 and €220,000, neither of which were accepted.

A video showcasing the former hospital area is also available for those interested in seeing its current state.
