Two individuals arrested in connection with fire at residential building in Drammen
A woman in her 30s and a man in his 20s have been arrested in connection with a fire that occurred in a residential building in Drammen. Authorities suspect that the fire may have been deliberately set.
Both individuals are undergoing health evaluations and testing as part of the investigation. Currently, they face charges under Section 355 of the criminal code. The incident was reported to police early Sunday morning, who are actively examining the circumstances surrounding the event.
Firefighters are still working to extinguish the blaze, which affected a multi-story building. As of around 9 a.m., operations were ongoing, with a fire service spokesperson stating that they are currently addressing the situation in the upper floors of the building. There is no risk of the fire spreading to nearby structures. Løkkebergveien in Drammen has been closed as a precaution. Traffic authorities have been notified, and public transport companies are being kept up to date.
