A 16-year-old boy has been remanded in custody until the end of August, following a knife attack that injured three young individuals in downtown Reykjavik. The Reykjavik District Court ruled for custodial detention based on the ongoing police investigation, led by the capital’s police department. As the suspect is a minor, appropriate measures will be taken for his confinement.
The attack occurred late last night, resulting in one victim suffering life-threatening injuries, while all three injured were transported to the emergency room. The police received reports of the incident around 11:30 PM, prompting a large-scale response in the city center.
At this stage, the police have indicated that further details about the investigation cannot be disclosed.
