Fire destroys multiple buildings at Maikkula Manor estate in Oulu

A fire has destroyed multiple buildings at the Maikkula Manor estate in Oulu. The fire occurred next to the main building, which dates back to the 1830s and is located along the Oulu River. A meeting space and several sauna buildings by the river were engulfed in flames. Fortunately, local authorities have reported no injuries.

The fire department was alerted at 1:45 a.m., by which time the structures were already heavily involved in the blaze. According to Mikko Heikkilä, the on-duty fire chief of the North Ostrobothnia rescue service, firefighting efforts are nearing completion, with a primary focus on protecting the valuable main building.

Investigations into the cause of the fire will begin later. More details will be provided shortly.
