Icelandic Coast Guard aircraft grounded due to corrosion found during inspection

The Icelandic Coast Guard has reported that its aircraft, TF-SIF, has been unusable throughout the summer due to corrosion found in its engines during a comprehensive inspection. There will not be any changes to this situation until October or November. The aircraft was originally scheduled for surveillance flights over Iceland this summer, with plans to participate in a project with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency in the fall. However, those plans will not proceed, resulting in a loss of approximately 100 million ISK for the Coast Guard.
