AaFK Fortuna faced a daunting challenge in their quest for the quarterfinals after impressively defeating LSK Kvinner back in June. The next obstacle was Brann, who had earlier played a quarterfinal match against Barcelona in the Champions League.

The match proved too difficult for the team from Sunnmøre, resulting in a 4–0 defeat. The scoring started in the 23rd minute when Brann’s Nora Lie Eghdami delivered a well-placed corner kick that found Marthine Østenstad, who headed the ball in off the crossbar.

Following this opening goal, the game became more balanced, with Fortuna managing some effective counterattacks. However, about ten minutes before halftime, Amalie Eikeland extended Brann’s lead, allowing them to head into the break with a deserved 2-0 advantage. AaFK Fortuna captain Mette Muri expressed her team’s need to be bolder, stating that they often squandered possession carelessly and needed to capitalize on their opportunities.

In the second half, Fortuna created some challenges for Brann intermittently, but the top-tier team maintained full control. In the 84th minute, Ingrid Stenevik secured a third goal for Brann, and shortly after, Lauren Davidson added a fourth, sealing the match at 4–0.

The victory guarantees Brann a spot in the semifinals of the NM, where they will compete against Vålerenga. The semifinals are scheduled to be held on September 28 and 29. Earlier in the day, it was confirmed that Røa will face Rosenborg in the other semifinal match.
