Finland’s Supreme Court dismisses charges against Juha Lindroos in Pekka Kataja case

Finland’s Supreme Court has dismissed charges against Juha Lindroos, who had been sentenced to six years in prison by the Vaasa Court of Appeals for aiding in a murder attempt against Pekka Kataja, a former election chief for the Finns Party in Central Finland. The original conviction was overturned, and Lindroos has been released from any obligation to pay damages.

The Central Finland District Court had previously dismissed all charges against Lindroos in March 2021. However, the Court of Appeals later found him guilty of complicity in a murder attempt and aggravated violation of domestic peace, leading to the six-year prison sentence.
