Finland’s Transport and Communications Agency Traficom warned operators about cyber risks to refrigeration equipment after a cyberattack targeted supermarket refrigerators in France, Yle reported.
Traficom’s National Cyber Security Centre began contacting Finnish organisations after the attack in France on October 12. It said it had been preparing for the threat in Finland since the following day.
The centre contacted owners of vulnerable devices identified online from October 13 and worked to get equipment at risk of attack disconnected from the public internet, it said in a statement.
Refrigeration equipment at K stores in Finland experienced disruptions on Monday. The National Cyber Security Centre had previously confirmed that a cyberattack was behind them.
