Flensburg police receive 100 responses in German torso case
Flensburg Police have received around 100 inquiries from Germany and three or four from Denmark after appealing for information about a torso found near Lyksborg, a German town about 30 kilometres from the Danish border, DR reports.
A hunter found the torso, wrapped and without arms or legs, on 11 August. Police searched the surrounding forest but have yet to make a breakthrough in the investigation.
Three days ago, police published a video about the case on YouTube and appealed for information on German television channel ZDF. A police spokesperson said it is not known what the inquiries from Denmark concern.
Investigators will now assess the information they have received and decide what to pursue in the coming days and weeks. Police have declined to comment on the progress of the investigation.
In a YouTube video, police said DNA tests established that the victim had blue eyes and light skin. The Flensburg public prosecutor’s office has offered a reward of 5,000 euros in the case.
