Two Danish boys with alleged ties to the sadistic online network 1414 have been charged with forcing a girl to sexually harm herself, according to documents obtained by Danish broadcaster DR.
The charge says the boys manipulated and later threatened the girl into filming herself, then shared the video with others. The alleged offences took place over 10 months, from December 2024 to October 2025. The girl was under 12 at the time; the boys were 16 and 17.
The charges include digitally raping a child under 12, indecent assault, unlawful coercion and sharing a sexually explicit video. The case is linked to the western outskirts of Copenhagen.
DR reported that the usernames Chax and Saw, which it says were used by two leaders of 1414, also appear in the case. Several independent sources told DR the case is connected to the network. Europol confirmed to DR that 1414 was founded and led by two Danish young people.
The boys were charged more than a year ago, but the investigation is still ongoing, Copenhagen West Police confirmed. The police did not say why the investigation remains unfinished or how far it has progressed. Court documents show the boys have not been held in pre-trial detention.
Both denied the allegations at a preliminary hearing last year. One defence lawyer rejected the reported assumptions about her client’s possible connection to the username Saw, but declined to say whether he had used it. She said police had not brought charges against him beyond the current case. The other boy, now 18, continues to deny the allegations, his lawyer told DR.
DR said it contacted a person using the username Chax, who declined to answer questions. The broadcaster said its research had found no indication that the user Saw remains active in the network, so it was unable to put its reporting directly to that user.
Europol told DR that videos showing self-harm, vandalism and animal abuse were shared across the network. DR said it has monitored more than 800 group chats and channels on Telegram and Discord in and around The Com, short for The Community, since May 2026. Its research included more than seven million chat messages from over 45,000 users, as well as more than 600 images and videos directly related to 1414.
DR has reported that some activity in The Com falls under what is known as nihilistic violent extremism, or NVE. The broadcaster has previously reported that Danish children and young people participate in NVE networks, and that Denmark’s security service warned about NVE in a threat assessment earlier this year.
