KVF reports that the building housing the Guesthouse at the National Hospital is in such poor condition that renovating it is not worthwhile, according to Per Busk, head of the Hospital Service.

The building contains asbestos, and the Hospital Service receives many complaints about the conditions, Busk said. He added that the service is well aware of the building’s poor state.

The previous evening, midwife Bjørg av Rana had described the conditions for pregnant women from Suðuroy staying at the guesthouse as undignified.
