Man admits smashing windows in nearly 30 Seltjarnarnes cars

A man in his 30s has admitted breaking windows in nearly 30 cars on Seltjarnarnes, mbl.is reported. The damage was done in the early hours of Monday, November 2, and police have completed their investigation.

The cars were parked on Nesvegur, Kirkjubraut and Austurströnd. Owners discovered the damage on Monday morning; one or two windows had been broken in each vehicle.

The damage is estimated to amount to millions of krónur. Police had asked the public for help with the investigation, including by checking footage from security cameras and in-car cameras. Deputy police chief Ásmundur Rúnar Gylfason said on Monday afternoon that police had received numerous tips and that the investigation was progressing well.
