President Halla receives first Neyðarkall fundraiser

Icelandic President Halla Tómasdóttir and her husband received the first Neyðarkall as sales of the annual rescue teams’ fundraiser began on Wednesday, mbl.is reported.

The annual fundraiser is one of the rescue teams’ major fundraising drives and is vital to their operations. Volunteers from rescue teams and accident prevention groups across Iceland will offer this year’s Neyðarkall for sale in the coming days.

This year marks the fundraiser’s 20th anniversary. The 2026 Neyðarkall is called “the fundraiser” and is dedicated to the thousands of volunteers who have taken part in fundraising for rescue teams and accident prevention groups across the country over the past two decades.
