Witnesses say Iris asked them to assault her former boyfriend
Two men testified that Iris Helga Jónatansdóttir asked them to beat up her former boyfriend, mbl.is reported as her trial continued at the District Court of Reykjanes.
One man said he was initially willing to help and at least speak with the former boyfriend, but changed his mind after looking further into the situation. Iris sent the other man a video of the former boyfriend’s home and included his address, hoping he would visit and assault him.
Two former friends of Iris also testified. Both said they ended their friendships with her in 2022. One said she had initially supported Iris during a dispute with the former boyfriend, but later heard that Iris had made up false stories about her.
The former friend said Iris had asked her to drive past the man’s home and keep watch. She also said she saw Iris switch between social media accounts, leading her to believe Iris was behind fake accounts that had sent messages. The woman said she believed Iris had lied to her about attempting suicide and having cancer.
Iris is charged with stalking, defamatory allegations, forgery, making false accusations and violating child protection laws.
