Smukfest says card payment problems forced it to slow its ticket queue during a sale that saw more than 115,000 people waiting. DR reports that some buyers were pushed back in the queue or could not pay, and missed out on tickets.
Sales for next year’s festival began at 10 a.m. Season tickets sold out within an hour and a half. Day tickets for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday were gone after three hours, the festival said in a press release.
One buyer, Heidi Bjerregaard, said she joined the queue at 10 a.m. and was initially near the front. Her queue number then changed, moving her further back. After waiting two hours, she reached the ticket page but found that season tickets and Friday and Saturday tickets had sold out.
Smukfest said its payment provider, Nets, had problems with card payments from 10:35 to 11:49 a.m. The festival said the technical issues meant it had to slow the queue system.
The festival is asking people who experienced problems to email documentation of what happened. It said it would review each case individually over the coming days and do its best to help.
