A guest who arranged unauthorised parties at an Airbnb home in Tampere had done the same at another rental weeks earlier, Yle reported.

About 100 young people arrived at a house in the Härmälä district last weekend. The renter had said the booking was for seven adults and claimed to be a teacher. Johanna Tohni, whose husband, actor Riku Suokas, owns the house, said the renter had instead sold party tickets to underage teenagers for about five euros each.

Police cleared the house, but partygoers returned after officers left because they had keys. Tohni went to the property and told them the party was over. She said furniture and other belongings were damaged and some windows were broken. The keys are still missing, so the locks will have to be changed.

Suokas filed a police report on Monday for suspected theft and criminal damage, police confirmed to Yle.

Tohni later learned that the same renter had booked an Airbnb apartment from Pasi Niklas-Salminen on 9 October, claiming four people would be travelling for work. Niklas-Salminen estimated that about 80 people gathered at the apartment in Pispala.

Niklas-Salminen saw the party on outdoor cameras and called police. After officers cleared the apartment, he allowed the renter to stay overnight and agreed that he would clean up. But more people arrived, Niklas-Salminen said. He then removed the renter and called police again; the renter left after hearing him call emergency services.

Yle said it had seen a payment receipt for a party ticket showing the recipient’s name. The same name was used for the booking at Tohni and Suokas’s property.

Niklas-Salminen did not initially file a police report because the renter was willing to resolve the matter without authorities. He said learning that the activity had continued changed his mind.
